ROTARY INTERNATIONAL
Rotary was the first Service Organization. Founded in 1905 by Paul Harris, Rotary has grown worldwide to 1,250,000 members.
Rotary uses service to promote goodwill and peace throughout the world. Rotary's motto is "Service Above Self".
At the local level Rotary Clubs are fulfilling community needs such as literacy, hunger, clothing, as well as building playgrounds and medical centers.
Each year hundreds of scholarships are given to students and teachers, as well as peace scholarships.
Internationally Rotary uses grants for hunger, health, and humanity projects like clean water wells and preventable blindness.
In 1985 Rotary took on the project of "eliminating Polio from the face of the earth" by 2005. We're almost done. There are only several countries that are not polio free. The final push is on to complete this wonderful project.
Those men and women who become Rotarians do so because they understand the importance of service to the community and that "Service = Reward".
